2/16 SD River: After the flooding

Got up this morning and went to a nice breakfast with Deb(bacon/eggs/toast...no crepes today McFish). Later, I found myself in my garage which basically means I started messing around with fishing gear to pass time. I picked up a few clones at Murray the other day and kept thinking about a bass I ...

Re: Good to be back

It’s been a while. All were caught on hard baits too!!

I’ve never seen the parking lots so full.

Only tuber on the lake😬

Great job out there at El Cap.
At first I thought the dirty water at the SD River today made me hallucinate but I fixed the pics.
Bet that was fun nailing those bass ...

Re: 2/16 SD River: After the flooding

You can tell the watercolor paled that fish up some. Nice work!

Yeah that bass was digging along the bottom and when it came to the surface
I was surprised how light colored it was. Maybe it was cold too! ha ha
Most of the bass in the river have more color and are darker usually.
For example ...

Re: San V 2/18 Bees, busters and Bassholes!

I hear you Moose.
I have learned to try to be more lenient when a guy with his family for example, are in rental boat and have no clue that when
they come close to where I am fishing or cut between me and the shoreline. Not fun, but I guess most do not really know any
better and are just out to have ...

Re: Kayak Cover Recommondations

I imagine there are some nice kayak covers out there and hope other kayak owners may be able to help you
find one. I have a Hobie PA 12 and Hobie PA 12 cover for my kayak is $265. It no doubt is quality made but that is
kind of ridiculous. Thank goodness I keep my kayak inside the garage.
Good luck

Re: The rain

It's raining out there. Not too hard at this point, but a steady drizzle.

To fish or not to fish that is the question: Whether 'tis nobler in the body to suffer the slings and arrows of falling drops, or to take arms against a lake of Largemouth?

By the time you read this comment you will be ...

Re: C&R gone too far?

They are good for the garden too

That is funny that you bring that up because it is so true. When I was younger, every once in a while I used to bring a few bass home to my father. Some may have been gut-hooked with a worm hook for example, but nevertheless he would clean them and prepare them ...

Re: Awesome multi-species day 2/23/24

Great job out there again and always fun to see and chat with you. Those small baits and BFS fishing are sure
playing off. It was funny as I told my buddy Curt in the other boat on how I have not caught a bass over that
structure near the point entering San Carlos arm for a while and then watched ...

Re: New Daiwa DX 8" Swimbait Rod

Yeah those Magdrafts I am including in the deal are sweet and this would be a nice A-Rig rod also.
Brand new with tag and plastic wrap on it.........can't believe it has not found a new home yet.
Oh well......For now, tight lines to all who stopped by to look at the ad. :-)

2/25 Otay & 2/26 Murray

Well left my house late Sunday morning and took my kayak down to Otay. Didn't arrive till 8:45, but did not matter much as
I mostly wanted to just get my PA 12 back in the water again. I have not taken it out since late November. Anyway....it was
an easy launch as I parked right next to the water. I ...

Nice job as always Moose. That 7lb plus bass sure must of been fun to catch and sure brought out a big smile.

Re: 2/25 Otay & 2/26 Murray

Thanks Vinny.I was wondering about Otay. Almost never see reports from there recently.

Glad you got some.

I was kind of overwhelmed by the water level at Otay when I got there. There is so much new cover to fish
and I was not planning to be there long so decided to just head down a little ...

Re: 2/25 Otay & 2/26 Murray

Looks pretty good to me. You’ll probably get a six pounder next time.

I was lucky as heck in a 5 year span or so where I caught at least 2 bass that were in the 6lb range each year and some
of those years even a few more(thanks to the Tokyo rig mostly)....up until until last year. Since I fish ...

Lake of D & K: Where did the water go?

Well it was a 77 mile trip to the lake and back home.....or was that just a large farm pond I fished at today???
Last year the water level at the lake of Donald & Kiefer was so high that you had to launch up near the concession stand as the
parking lot was all under water. It was absolutely ...

Re: Badly kept secret!

I think all the crappie fishermen scared them off….ha ha.
Yeah, the cold water(and lack of water)and all the points and areas that were high and dry now did not help make
the fishing easier. It was strange having so many people fishing, especially in the middle of the lake, but I think it was ...
