A little late but still recent enough to be relevant.
Met my good friend Marshall at 5:45am and started fishing by 6:15. 60 degree water in the morning and the lake is close to max capacity. The typical tulle line is a few feet underwater with some bass starting to move into the shallower flooded banks. Marshall started with a small underspin and cranked out a couple first thing. I went with a slower approach and neko rigged a worm to pitch in tight between the sticks and had a slower morning. Once the sun came out we found a cove where I got three consecutive bites with two coming in the boat. Both fish similar size around 2lbs. The underspin action slowed for Marshall and we both started working some scattered rockpiles and extended points with dropshots before calling it around noon. 8 or 9 bass between the two of us and a GIANT bluegill bycatch on the underspin. Hadn’t seen one that big in a loong time.
The water level is up and visibility is down. Harvey’s had the cleanest looking water that we saw. Temp up to 61.5 by lunch so the spawn is gonna kick off soon.
