Re: Minnesota Madness 2024

Always look forward to your annual Minnesota trip reports Big C. Those are some really healthy bass and I could see why you head back there each year to fish Pelican Lake. Judging from those pics of you guys and those bass, it looks like you are having a great time. Keep on catching them and look ...

Re: Minnesota Madness 2024

Going to those pristine, unpressured lakes is just plain cheating! Says a very jealous, frustrated Socal fisher.

6/13- Murray Madness

After driving up to find Murray closed on Tuesday, I decided to give it a go this morning.
Seeing that I already caught 2 big catfish in May fishing for bass, I somehow managed to catch another catfish that gobbled down my Texas rigged brush hog. I thought at first it was a nice bass for about 20 ...

D&K 6/14

Took my oldest son float tubing at D&K. Awesome day. My son is just now getting the fishing bug at 35....but he's still really new to it.

He ended up with 7 and I caught 16. Several were caught on walking topwater baits and poppers, a few on a crankbait. After the topwater action slowed, the rest ...

Re: 6/28-SD River

Classic! Brush Craws, LOL.
Way to get out there and keep on getting a line wet!

Just because of those little craws, I ordered four packs of them from Tackle Warehouse thinking the bass are definitely going to see
the difference or am I just too gullible? ....:-)

Bass don't like these anymore ...

You slay the bass back there already and the brush craws would be almost like cheating.....ha ha

Throwing worms at The Captains Footballs 6/30

After an abysmal Saturday at Sutherland yesterday (a handful of dinks) I thought to redeem myself at El Capitan today. The topwater bite really never got going at either lake this weekend, at least where I was fishing.

It had been a minute since I'd worm fished, so I T-rigged a 7 inch fat Roboworm ...

Re: Throwing worms at The Captains Footballs 6/30

Nice Job! I always think a longer worm is easier for a bass to see...especially the bass that are a little fatter and not as intimidated by the size of the worm.

Tough toasties on the D.K.

Perfect day for topwater..but they forgot to tell the fish! I picked up a small fish on the surface right away and that was the end of my topwater party. There was a few scattered breakers the next couple hours, but not worth chasing. I broke out the dropshot pretty quick and picked up a decent fish ...

Murray Giant on the underspin

Haven’t been on SDfish too much lately but I decided to post this catch. I was planning on taking out the kayak but didn’t want to go through the hassle of loading it up so instead, I went on the bank. I saw some fish busting so I decided to throw a small 2.8 Keitech on an underspin. I got caught on ...

7/24-Back to Miramar for more!

I only fished Miramar once on July 8 since they opened and had a nice morning with 11 bass until I felt really ill and had to leave
pretty quickly which was a bummer. Feeling much better and recovered from my heel pain(plantar fasciitis), I decided I wanted
to return back up to Miramar. It was a ...

7/29-Return to Murray

Been a long time(June 21) since I actually fished on the water at Murray. Besides being out sick and a few other ailments added to the fact they lowered the water where I could not launch my boat, it was nice to actually get back on the water this morning. Threw topwater baits and reaction baits on ...

8/7-M-U-R-R..

Well, you probably already guessed.... as it is no surprise that I fished Lake Murray this morning. It is just so close to my house and
heck...why not! Started pretty slow as I searched all over for balls of shad in deeper water in between tossing topwater baits towards
some breakers but no hook ...

8/14-Miramar Morning

Decided to head up to Miramar again since the last time I was there July 24. A little foggy in the morning but was able to throw on
some random busters here and there. They seemed to be more focused on the small baitfish they were chasing. It was a little frustrating having a few roll over or ...

8/16-Lake near my house

It was a little overcast in the morning and after an already late start to the lake, I spent a good deal of time on shore before launching
when I ran into my old fishing buddy Sonny. Haven't seen him in a long time and he is an amazing bass fisherman. He fishes out of a
kayak and always catches ...

The Murr....and a couple old guys

I met Mr. Vinnybass at Murray this morning for a little post full moon fishing! Between the two of us, I think we have at least a 100 years of experience on the lake, so I figured we could put together some kind of a pattern! The lake started out glassy and calm and didn't take long to heat up. It ...
