Re: DIY Rod Tube holder advice needed

I have a Humminbird Fishin Buddy but it isn't made anymore. Haven't yet seen anything I think would be better either.

The fish finder is mostly used for finding drop offs, big rocks, underwater structure, points, creek channels, whether the bottom is smooth, rocky or weeds, etc. Not really used ...

Re: DIY Rod Tube holder advice needed

Added a horizontal bar on the right side to attach to the D rings. Seems like this is going to work and isn’t going to lean to one side or the other. Think I’m gonna let all the Rod turrets swivel. Cup holder on the front is going to have a magnetic dish mounted inside of it, place to keep baits and ...

I'm pretty sure that most of you have seen this, but this is what I use for my Super Fat Cat. I'm happy to answer any questions on it.

3 stars on the Meh-meter...

Chose the afternoon sted morning.

Coronado side of bay.

Pros: calm weather, rode the tail end of the tide out and back, confirmed the effectiveness of a certain newish lure. Hung out for a few hours after dark with a couple of guys (Andy and Bryce) bait fishing; got to see 'em land a few bat rays ...

Re: Rule or reg to wear red/orange on tube?

I’ve seen the rule posted at many water ways for a certain size of orange marking on a tube. Most used to come with orange on back rests. I Always camo’d my tubes, especially the orange and never once have been questioned. I believe that rule as well as distance from shore and life jacket applies to ...

Re: Rule or reg to wear red/orange on tube?

Never once been questioned about colors on a float tube. Or whistle, life preserver or distance to shore. I have been stopped for license check twice while on the tube.

If someone doesn't notice a float tube with five 7' rods sticking up in the air, they likely won't notice a small patch of orange ...

Re: Big Bear Lake?

Haven't heard much about that place as of late, other than the water level was up.

For what's it's worth, there was this recent report posted online:

The summer time fishing is in full swing with the trout being hot and tired. We need to adapt to the conditions in order to avoid the skunk. Slip ...

Reaper boy strikes again (report for 7/28)

We got a full 14 hour day in on Sunday. A great day with 46 between us (you know, the same number that some of you catch individually when you haul your fancy kayaks out of the water by 11am). :o

Theo caught the biggest fish of the day before we left the dock at 5:30am. No scale, but this one was ...
