I fish PB and MB almost weekly. You can drop down to mosquito hook either #6 or#8. I will say that this will essentially just net you some smaller perch. What size and type of weight were you using. Also what swivel type? Other than that it's just keeping the slack out of your line and walking with your bait.

Ah yes! That's your issue. 1/2 oz isn't terrible but maybe a bit heavy. The lack of swivel is the culprit for your wrapping issue.

As far as my notes on weight. I try to stay between 1/4-1/2. I pay attention to current and grass with weight selection. More grass means less weight. If your bait is ...
