7-28 Not Hot but Steady!
Fished shallow just below the bridge from 6:30 til 10 and picked up 16 on the minnow pinned on a 3/16oz ball jig. 15 feisty spotties and one baby butt. Tons of short bites so not sure they were totally on the chew. The breeze came on just as forecasted about 10am.

Re: Redemption... sort of.
That's fishing. You can feel like you really understand something and then it's all blanks. Nice job getting through and catching fish. Looking forward to getting out there with you.

Re: 7-28 Not Hot but Steady!
Sometimes I wonder if launching my boat at Glorietta and trying to find parking is worse than launching at Shelter Island and motoring all the way up to the bridge. I hate going over or getting stuck on that bridge towing my boat with traffic. What are your thoughts.
We usually launch at the ...

Re: First Fish
Reminds me of the old credit card commercial…
Broken rod, $100
Blown motor, $2500
Time with grandpa, catching a slew of fish, PRICELESS

Re: First Fish
Hard to beat that setup for numbers, I'm surprised no one caught a halibut.
side note:
careful with the regs, I believe most of the back bay is closed to boat based angling and only shore fishing is allowed east of the big bridge. always was frustrating not to be able to make a cast until getting ...

Not Great But Still Fishing!
Wish I had a better report but we still brought home ceviche and filet fixins. Hit the kelps just outside the Point and caught two quick checkerboards. Thursday dinner, check ✔️. The goal was at least 3 more for neighbors but things got pretty quiet at the top of the water column. Hit the Whistler ...

Sunrise hali
Started throwing at grey light. Literally in the middle of nowhere. Threw a bass jig a couple times to check depth, 12-15'. Nice depth for the chatterbait, so I changed rods. 1st cast on the chatter. Boom! Gaffed her, stepped on her, stabbed her in the brain, threw in the ice box to die. 20 minutes ...

Tidelands Park, slow, very slow
Launched the float tube at 6:30am out of tidelands with the plan to fish the moored boats. This spot has always held some biters until today. Two hours went by and nothing, not a bite.
Moved out to deeper water closer to the channel which is a bit uneasy in a float tube. Right off the bat in 35ft ...

I'm in.
Hello all,
Although I seem to only fish one lake, maybe two, I recently expanded my horizons to the ocean. Well, why didn't anyone say anything about how fun it is? Tom Noel (1fishdude) took me out a couple times now and we have had a blast. The numbers are not there yet for me, but it sure is a ...

Trying to find the magic retrieve, twitch, or lure is impossible. Corvina are very random biters. No pattern, is the pattern.

Re: South SD Bay 12/04
Sounds like they are hanging in the warmest water in the Bay. Meanwhile the big Sand Bass are out near the mouth of the Harbor, Chillin with the Halibut.

Re: South SD bay 12/17
Hey Dann nice meeting up with you at the ramp. We also had a good day even after getting very lost in the fog and ending up at the cays. We nailed over 40 spotties and one confused halibut between both of us on my boat. It was the first time my neighbor ever experienced such a bite and had a great ...

Boney Reward for Dodging Rain! 1-3-26
After watching the Beefshamen and McQuade tearing up the back bay on a recent high tide, we plotted out this weekend’s king tides to take our shot. As the week progressed we wondered if the weather would cooperate and juggled days last minute to today. Got the reward with my first bonefish and a ...

San Clemente 7/25
Conditions improving, except for the wind out of the North around noon… My buddy Norm came down and fished with me in the AM… He out fished me with 2-BSP and 2-small corbina… I ended up with 3-BSP, with 2 better grade, and 1- YFC.. I haven’t seen many yellow fin croaker in awhile, so that was a ...
