When is the best time to fish on Sunday, Surf? Mixed reef and sand? For instance, Del Mar, or mostly-sand Torrey Pines? Or anywhere local given tides?

Using Surfline, I picked the easiest window on Thursday morning, still in bad conditions for LC, as far as I understand it... and just two perch on it in the gentilest sea state that morning had to offer. It started at 3-4 feet and grew steadily to 5-6 feet waves with a high tide.

Full disclosure, about a week ago, I had a dream of finding the motherlode of sand crabs! Back to mid Del Mar Sunday, like a broken record, and I don't see that changing too often. Hi Butch, for throwing into the holes in the reef, it worked well because the bait stayed where it needed to be in the holes or along the edges of the reef, or I could drag it on the desired trajectory around this structure.

I tried to post a Google Earth link that shows a lot of the coastal structure near the surfline in case anyone wants to look at it, but it didn't work.
I found it by selecting the option for historical imagery in the Basemap menu and finding the image provided for
