Re: El Cap (2/22)
Reading these 🧢 reports and being a boater is sheer torture. And its my favorite lake after Barrett. Damn the city (pun intended) for not managing our water resources and dam maintenance/replacement funds better. And you can throw the Hodges story into this too. Sorry bfullerton17 for going ...

Re: El Cap (2/22) Dams
What about all the Dams back East? Many are older than our Dams. They are all full every year from the massive rains they receive. No lowering of the water. I think it’s about creating a shortage so the Water Districts can charge more for the water. “Let’s be extra careful, we are doing it for your ...

Re: El Cap (2/22)
Hard to answer this question.
The state of CA is calling the shots.
Perhaps other states that are not doing this are teetering on disaster...
Or
The state of CA is over protective due to earthquake risk or there is some conspiracy to charge higher rates to customers.
Water is a tough investment ...

Damian Thao's Beast
I know Damian Thao has been seen on this site before (maybe it was the old site?)
I thought everyone would appreciate this toad!! Except for Beef Shawman, since he's the only one with a greater PB that's on here... :-D

No story this time
Just the pure joy of hooking, and landing, a pig.

Hodges in August, I mean Feb
Hey guys, am back on the new sdfish.org.. didn't realize sdfish.com was gone after several years LOL!! On the new one now..
Hit Hodges today, and was slow as expected.. Mid 80's with no breeze, felt like mid-summer August.. Seemed most folks were crappie fishing, and maybe a handful of bass anglers ...

3/2- Back to the SD River
I was inspired today to spend a few hours this morning down at the SD River thanks to fellow SDFish member tomnilll .I have not been fishing much at all and needed a nice kick in the rear which tomnilll has provided with some recent posts and nice bass he has landed. Not much to say, but landed 2 ...

Otay 3/4
I haven’t fished for a very long time. Hit up Otay today. Got there around 6:30 to very low water levels and quite a bit of algae.
Did ok. Got 11. Biggest went 4.4# and another 3.6#. Rest were clones. All caught on jerkbait and dropshot.

Back at it...
Back to the new favorite but with a new plan...respooled one baitcaster with 10lb mono and fished just a weightless senco in the edges of the tulles...trying to get more bites. Seemed to work, got 6 bites in a couple hours but lost four of them because I was afraid to set the hook too hard with the ...

Not all days...
I think a while back I promised to also post the not so great ones too... well today was one. 6+ hours, 2+ miles walked, shivering start, profuse sweating end, and these...
At least I got outside and got some fresh air and exercise.

Lake Hodges is gettting there!
https://youtu.be/qJ63KMMhH_Y
Hey all!
It has been a little bit since I posted here. I headed out to Hodges for my second trip of the year. The lake looks beautiful (although still low) and there are now nice patches of tules coming in. I think if the lake level stays this way in a few years we will ...

Ok well...Murray March 11
Murray has been ok numbers wise for me for the last few weeks, but everything has been clones and dinks so I haven't bothered posting.
Still I didn't want you guys to think I left altogether so I figured I'd better put up something. I've thrown everything from big swimbaits to worms and tiny jigs ...

I'd rather be lucky and good...
Well not really how the expression goes but here is another story.
Back to what has become a favorite of mine (O'Neill) for an after work session and I have to confess the lucky first. Here is the result.

Skunkville. Population: Me
Fished Hodges yesterday. Was a beautiful morning with heavy fog on the water. My third Wednesday fishing Hodges and my second trip in a row without even a bite. In 3 trips, i’ve only landed 1. Has to be operator error, right? Here’s a pic of EVERYTHING I threw yesterday. You be the judge.

Grandkids at Murray
Took a trip to Murray with the grandkids. They love to fish and look at the fish in the live well. In 1 of the pics you can see they built a fort at the drivers seat and dash. So I used the trolling to get us around. To much fun.

3/13- Lake Miramar
I thought about driving all the way up to the Lake of D & K, but instead made a closer run up to Lake Miramar. Decided to just take my small 10' '5" kayak that has no electronics on it and also meant I could not take a lot of gear with me so I just loaded some worms and some creature type baits, a ...
