Morning bassin
Back to the camp lake this time in the morning. Made the mistake of taking a work call while fishing and of course got bit. Set the hook and it was a giant, tried to be calm and was mostly successful. Fought her for a minute or so, she stayed down and took some line...then came up to say hi, jumped ...

El Capitan 3/17
Had a pretty good day at El Cap, final count was 7, all jig and worm fish, but nothing big.
That will be my last trip to The Captain until they raise the water some. I got completely stuck in the mud trying to launch and wrenched both my old arthritic knees trying to get out. Our wonderful lakes ...

Cap the 16th
I trucked through the mud to fish. I was out there 2 weeks before and did really well with 31, checked out to the rock I use to fish on the regular that is out of the water now. I did even better this time. Fishing the shore to 15' deep. All types of shore line, but with rock was better. Fished slow ...

Re: El Capitan 3/17
Yet over at Miramar, too much water as my buddy took this pic yesterday.
Last week the water started halfway down where the railing are on that dock.
Pretty crazy eh?

Great Murray day 3/19
Had a really good BFS day at the Murr. Final count was 24. The largest was just under 4 lbs. Most were in the 2-3 pound range, with a few dinks scattered in there. Even the short fish were pretty weighty with bellies bulging from shad.
The best part was that the first 11 bass were all on top water ...

3/20- Fished Murray
Not fully recovered from a sore throat, fever and bad cough, I decided to take your advice Dannicus and get off my lazy sick butt and hit Murray this morning. Thank you for the inspiration I needed. I can't agree with you more on your last Murray report as no bass are

Re: El Cap (3/22)
Hi all,
I've been slacking on the fish reports over the past few weeks, but I've been out there and having some solid days on the water. I got out to Cap yesterday and continued working on finding the spring pattern. I was on the water at about 7:00 a.m. with the plan to fish the hot spots that I ...

Re: El Cap (3/22)
Nice report.
I have always pinpointed it down to confidence. I have fished techniques in the past that I swear I sucked at. This a few fish later I was roping them, thinking this is my new go to. Trip after trip that technique is now putting them in the boat. My way of fishing it did not change, it ...

Re: El Cap (3/22)
After missing the Barrett Bash and not being able to fish for weeks I am chaffing at the bit to get out there once again and soak my jigs once again. I think that as well as you did and others who fished the Cap Id love to try this week sometime. Is the mud still a major concern for launching my ...

Lake Vinnybass funk!
I fished Murray on Monday and found a pattern I wasn't expecting. After hearing rumors of topwater and shallow action the last couple weeks, I was expecting a fish bonanza yesterday! Well...not quite what I was expecting! I did end up with 12 fish, but it felt very much like a weird postspawn day ...

Redemption at Cap 3/27
After my outing 2 weeks ago, and seeing a lot of people hammering ‘em at Cap, I wanted to get back out there and get another chance at it. The wind was blowing pretty good early, and it made things a little tougher than I was expecting early, but got the first fish within a few minutes of hitting ...
