Re: On the Water Again-Murray 7/21
Looks like a Sammy 100 with a lot of mileage on it (based upon the hook rash on the side). That's my all time favorite topwater!

Re: On the Water Again-Murray 7/21
Same here. Even though they are all made of plastic and should be exactly the same, I always felt that some worked better. I was big into the Don Iovino Splash-It (Same Mold as a Rico) back when it came out in the 90s, and I swear there were some that slayed them and some that just did not have the ...

Re: Most fun and unusual baits for bass
So, way way back when I was still wet behind the ears and the Snagg Proof Frogs were not a thing, I used these fishing with my Grandfather;

Re: Fuego!
San V is definitely the most consistent bite this spring and summer! If you don't like fishing trees and brush down to 40+', you might pass on the V now..it can be a challenge to pull the better fish out of the jungle!
Oddly enough almost all my catches the last two weekends were in less than ...

Re: Trolling motor recommendations
You can get by with a 12V Tiller Steering. A low thrust gets the job done. Bring a piece of wood to help clamp on to the side of the boat so you can mount near the front of the boat. Like a 1 X 2 type of cut board. When I wanted less thrust and a constant on (shifting in and out of gear all the time ...

There you go! Thanks!camobass wrote: Wed Aug 02, 2023 9:34 am They make a screw lock worm hook that will work better than the long shank worm hook. I’ve used them, the top of the worm still gets damaged but may last longerIMG_5269.jpeg

Re: 8/11- Missed opportunities are no fun
That 3rd one looks nice! They are all heathy looking! It's so funny how each lake has it's own distinctly looking bass.
Thanks for sharing your good times!

Re: These are the moments I fish for..
Nice one! That is a Summertime El Cap fish (XL sized) through and through.
We should start a post, "Guess what lake this fish was caught in?". Only show the fish and not the background.
If VinnyBass posts one, just guess Murray and you have an 80% chance of being right=)😂🤣 JK, wish I got to fish ...

Re: My Murray.......
Nice job!! That 3 inch Sluggo rig was the go to on breakers back in the day at San V before the new dam. 4 lb test on a 10 foot noodle rod. We used to call it tuna style bass fishing because the fights were so long.
Good stuff and thanks for sharing!
Happy Friday to All=)

Re: My Murray.......
I'm thinkin we started throwing baby sluggos at San V maybe 25-30 years ago! I threw them with a 8 1/2' foot rod and 4lb-6lb test! I now throw them with braid and 8' of 8lb Pline fluorocarbon leader. I get more distance with the braid and it keeps the bait 4"under the surface where I want it! I ...

Re: Wild ride at San V today
Time to bust out the trout rods with 4lb and start hucking tiny rapala shadraps again or start trolling
I actually spent a couple seasons back in the 80s, trolling shadraps with leadcore, mostly 35'-50' deep. I caught alot of nice fish, but it was just too boring for me. I just wasn't cut out ...
