Getting Jiggy at Barrett!
Another extra special Barrett day, especially on the jig! Pics of the main weapons below but it was almost impossible to get off the jig. Lots of doubles and steady action. All in Hauser today got 49 on the jig, 10 on the minnow mostly crisscrossing the arm but also dragging along banks, then two T ...

Quick 6/29 report
Spoiler alert — the fishing is good!
My son and I arrived late (~10:30) and closed the place down as usual. In contrast to last weekend when we were catching most of our quality fish along rocky shorelines, Sunday was all about finding them in the stick ups. I beat Theo 34/31, but he scored the ...

Bobcats, Ospreys, and Deer…and Bass!!
Had a little bit of everything out at the Big B this morning. Watched a bobby sleuthing along near vertical rocks looking for prey, man their paws grip good! Then along with Early Release Dave and Pourboy Chris watched a hungry osprey attacking unsuspecting bass too lazy on the surface, not once ...

Wind Blown Quickie 7-13
Got a quick session in before the wind came up. A seemingly slower day from perhaps a combination of a drop of at least a foot in the lake, some new green turbidity, and about a 91% full moon overnight. Anyway it only had flashes of the hot bite as opposed to the all out variety the last month or ...

Welcome to the Baja Forum!
Yes! Got my favorite fishing location a place of its own! Thank You Bassman!
Hitting the Estero in Ensenada, or catching roosters in Punta Arena - Post it here!
The Baja season will be cranking up soon, and I have plenty of trips booked - here we go!

Re: San Jose Del Cabo 4/15
I told the skipper I really want to get a Rooster, didn’t care what size. We were still too early in the season. Hopefully by the time you get down there the big girls have started showing up. Good luck!

North Gonzaga and Loreto
I'm going to be moving to New England this fall. With only a few remaining months in SD, I knew that the one thing I absolutely had to do was fish Baja proper. I went once to Gonzaga with a couple friends on a road trip, and two weeks later went with my dad to Loreto via plane. Both trips were great ...

Re: Cabo Redemption?
I would stop by Jansen inshore tackle. Hes got two locations in Cabo one in San Lucas and one in San Jose. Super friendly and knowledgeable guy that will help you out. His "cabo killer" lure, very similar to a roberts plug is a local favorite down there for the roosters and jacks.
Thanks... I ...

Re: Cabo Redemption?
I haven't used the Johnson lure in Cabo, but have many times in the Caribbean... I have caught a bunch of reef dwellers (snapper, grunts small jacks etc), a couple large trigger fish, maybe 4-5 bonefish, and a couple of tarpon (Hooked but not landed, and huge tilapia in St. Martin salt ponds)...
