Went this morning. 6:30 to 9:30
Caught 4 perch and a shovelhead. Largest perch was 10”.
Shovelhead was 19”. I was using a 7’ rod with 10 lb test.
Perch really put a decent fight. I was periodically getting seaweed, I definitely felt the shovelhead bite.

Back spasms suck. I used to suffer from 'em years ago since I was diagnosed with DDD (Degenerative Disk Disease) and I'd be out for days unable to even walk. No amount of Flexeril would help.

Good job getting up there to a new spot and catching fish. Thanks for the report. I've been thinking about that one.
It's interesting how crab beds vary so much and are not in some places but are in others with similar sand just a half mile away.

Got back out this morning after grouting/caulking the shower last week.
Fished with LC from 6:30 to 7:15, got nothing
7:30 to 8:20 switched to crabs, only caught 4 small perch. Oh well, better than grouting a shower

Caught one other little guy, though I was getting what felt like some decent bites. Just felt like getting out to the beach on a Thursday evening for some fresh ocean air.

Crazy Halibut, I got my biggest Newport Striped Bass on a Sand Crab, sight fishing Corbina, it ran in and stole it! I about fell over, landed it on Six pound test. It took a couple amazing runs, I was with some buddies that day. “ There he goes again”….
