Re: How do you decide where to fish?
I think a lot of people have a lot of ways they make the determination. Whether they like fresh or salt water fishing better and what kind of tackle they like and have, if they are on foot, in a float tube, or a boat and what kind of boat. What species they enjoy catching. How far or near they have ...

Re: Werfless
What would a local fishing forum be without Werfless? Most likely not werfless, but maybe werf a little less.

Re: Werfless
Pretty sure this is not a re-launch of the old site. Why the comparison? Only the format was cloned. These are different people, or else why launch a new site, when the old one could have been tidied up and rearranged a bit. I am an administrator on a couple of sites, and administrators can do grea...

Re: I'm back for good
Why does everyone seem to think there was some nefarious reason the old site closed? Lots of nefarious reasons could abound, but not what people seem to be inferring. Lots of ways the old site could have kept going, but the guy that owned it obviously didn't care enough to be involved, especially a...

Re: Bambluegilled
Bravo! I used to use a 8 ft Horrocks Ibitson tonkin cane rod. It didn't have a line weight on it it, but I tried a 5 weight, which worked out well. I used to roll cast little rubber bugs near the tulies in the south end of Cuyamaca for gills with it. I can still hear the little smacking sound they m...

Re: So long San Diego bass fishing......sort of
Excellent! we should have a "fishing in other locales" sub forum for people who went fishing on vacation to other regions and states, and ex-patriots who would still like to actively participate in the fishing report side of the forum.

Re: Poaching
I suspect as times and the general economy get tougher, more and more people will resort to poaching of both fish and game, especially those who don't know anything about regulations and the law in America.

Re: Stuff Your Hear at City Park Ponds
OMG..That is classic! Like whatever you say or were going to say in response doesn't not mean anything because his buddy caught a bigger one than what you caught or are going to catch. ( Most likely it was a 5lb bass anyway that his buddy assumed weighed 10lbs..ha ha) doesn't matter if it was five ...

Re: First wild trout
Pretty sure the bottom one is a brook trout. Next one up looks like a cutthroat. I can't tell on the rest.

Avoid a website called ETacklePro
Very nice, slick website, good prices, haven't been able to find any complaints about this site, so I ordered a fly reel from it. After a couple of weeks, there was no update on the order, but the payment posted on the day of the order. Each time I checked the order number on the website, I got a &q...

Re: 7/24-Lake Miramar Dink-Fest
Seems typical for Mira Mar. I used to go there a lot, years ago. Always a challenge to find subtle structure in the weeds in the clear water. Usually used 4 lb test, splitshot reapers and finesse worms in Green Weenie to get them to eat. But I digress.

How to pose for a picture part 2
This guy wanted to pose with his fish, but the trout had other ideas about how it should be done. Everybody did manage to look at the camera in this shot, even if they didn't get a chance to say "cheese".

Too much spam
We have had waaaaay too much spam in the last two or three days. Hate to say it, but I think anybody who's name starts with "Svet" and they don't hail from anywhere in the U.S. should be banned, or else anybody who hasn't posted yet should be moderated until admins see that these people ar...

Fishing up here in cowboyland
I sure miss the fishing in Southern California, especially the bass fishing. If you live in southwest Wyoming, bass fishing is pretty much not an option, unless you figure out how to target the smallmouth bass in Flaming Gorge (which I have not done, so far). But trout fishing is another story. The ...
