Have caught a few dinks in the surf recently. Nothing impressive at all. But today one short hali maybe 20” spit up this thing which i learned is a queenfish. Pretty cool

Walked down to a favorite beach spot to fish a weighted weedless swimbait (shown) along the sand/rock shoreline here, with much smaller surf today.

The biggest fish I caught from the surf was from North Torrey Pines right in front of the parking lot.

That's the TP Paradox. Sometimes the fish are right where the people are. And sometimes you hike up the beach to find so many weeds that you can't fish....

lots of quality sand crabs today and water seemed plenty warm but not many bites. Got a couple guitar fish, a perch and a bean. There's so many rocks on beach lately, don't remember seeing that many in past years, not sure if that messes with bites.
