The bummer was I lost my phone!
Fishing was great. My son in law (John) and I on our tubes. Pretty much all places we fished had fish 1 pic will show you a place. All structure, shallow to 10,15 ft of water. Most fish cam fishing parallel in the 10 to 15' of water. Baits 3" stick baits, a fluke but ...

5/25 report and mystery solved
Another great day on the water Sunday. Motoring out by 6, this time with a boat rental. We explored Pine Cove — haven’t been there for a while. Finally got some top water action going with my dad’s really old popper. I feel like I know what the action should be like now. Caught both large and small ...

5/25 Grom Day + Dad Bass Report
Add another Lake Barrett adventure to the family memory books! It went off for me and my boys. Barrett is one of my favorite places to fish and although its a full send from LA county it is so freaking worth it. Was stoked that we had mild weather in the mid 70's for Barrett standards and ...

Re: Barrett Lake May 28th report
Fish are getting thinner and thinner every week 😢. Have you guys seen any bait balls on your fish finders at all? The past few years the shad were thick all around the dock and all around the shoreline due to a successful shad spawn.
I was having the same concern. I do not run with a any ...

Re: Barrett Lake May 28th report
I didn't see any shad this week. I split from the group and hit the shallows in Hauser on the north side. Last week there were a bunch of little shad in there, but this week I didn't find them. The bluegill spawn had to be good though, there are so many nests that are still in work that I'm guessing ...

Re: 5/25 Grom Day + Dad Bass Report
You weren’t kidding about the power pole! 😂 I’m sure that made it much easier to retie when the wind picked up. Please tell Afran to make more “Barrett Roach” swim jigs. There’s just something about that textured green pumpkin blue fleck skirt material that sets it apart.
That power pole micro ...

Quick Saturday AM Report, Beat the Lightening ⚡️
The girl and I were lines in a hair before 6 and the bite was on. We fished the rocks in Hauser from the bank out to 15-20 and got bit in all depths. I fished 1/4 to 3/8 pumpkin jigs with summer craw trailers, 7” margarita mutilators, and swimming minnows. Got one on a magic craw chatterbait tipped ...

6-11-25 first trip of the season, Barrett did not disappoint
First time this season, we’ve been able to get out. The lake was beautiful, nice and full and it is in great condition. Our morning popper bite never materialized and we went straight to Fishing plastics and got on a senko bite that just hammered them. We had 40 fish by 10 all of them nice grade. We ...

Barrett Lake June 11th report
Been remiss in reports. Apologies. Headed out on Wednesday in the dark with the usual suspects and a few new friends.
Light wind and about 65F, the water, a pleasant 73F at the surface. Chuck and I headed across the lake and worked some of the main lake shoreline. He had some success on jigs and I ...

Father’s Day 2025 and the Bass Were Gifting!
Got on the water at 4:45 and headed out on an absolutely perfect temp morning and lake surface. The bass were taking care of us fathers with a healthy bite until we left. Our usual rocky spots in Hauser were biting the pumpkin/pumpkin jigs hard, with us lipping 50 healthy models by 8am. Things ...

JUNE 14TH REPORT
I have not fished Barrett in 10 years and my son Cayden and I were very excited to get back on the water after such a long absence. It was a tough night of sleep after preparing all of our rods/reels and tackle for our trip. We have a tackle box dedicated to Barrett where we grind down all the hooks ...

Barrett Bonanza June 21 Report
Max and I teamed up yesterday for another fun day at the Big B. After about ten hours of fishing we hit our goal of 80 fish not including about fifteen dinks. I did most of my damage on the brush hog while the versatile Max got them on a variety of baits. He also introduced me to the neko rig that ...

Getting Jiggy at Barrett!
Another extra special Barrett day, especially on the jig! Pics of the main weapons below but it was almost impossible to get off the jig. Lots of doubles and steady action. All in Hauser today got 49 on the jig, 10 on the minnow mostly crisscrossing the arm but also dragging along banks, then two T ...

Quick 6/29 report
Spoiler alert — the fishing is good!
My son and I arrived late (~10:30) and closed the place down as usual. In contrast to last weekend when we were catching most of our quality fish along rocky shorelines, Sunday was all about finding them in the stick ups. I beat Theo 34/31, but he scored the ...

Bobcats, Ospreys, and Deer…and Bass!!
Had a little bit of everything out at the Big B this morning. Watched a bobby sleuthing along near vertical rocks looking for prey, man their paws grip good! Then along with Early Release Dave and Pourboy Chris watched a hungry osprey attacking unsuspecting bass too lazy on the surface, not once ...

7/19 The good the bad the ugly!
Got in line at 3:30. On the water in my tube before 5 and headed out. I had decided to main lake fish today and had planned out my spots. I caught only 1 at the launch, so I was kind of concerned. THE GOOD! Was at my first spot threw the Rat nothing, threw a small walking bait game on, lasted until ...
