Carlsbad to Oceanside surf

Beach day with the family so I figure I’ll bring a rod. Started at 1030 behind the military academy and worked the beach north towards Oceanside. All I brought was a few things to tie a Carolina rig there was a literal ton of Sand crabs so bait wasn’t an issue . Lots of fishy looking holes to fish unfortunately the beach was very busy. I walked close to a mile north with only a couple small perch to show for it. I guess better than a skunk. Was out here last week and scored a few beans so bite for me dropped.
