Beginner bass fishing in OC

I just picked up my first baitcaster and looking to learn bass fishing. Any recommendations for good places in Orange Country or nearby (Riverside, San Diego)?

There are so many places to fish for bass it can be overwhelming for a beginner. Most all bodies of freshwater from farm and golf course ponds to gravel pits and on to lakes will hold fish in your area. Irvine lake is a good place to start or not to far is DVL and Skinner Lake. South of you is Dixon and Hodges all with ample shore fishing access if you dont own a float tube or boat.
