Sensors are not just being abandoned, they are actively being removed.

In a past life, when I spent many days aboard research vessels, we deployed one of these sensors near the northern Channel Islands in cooperation with Oregon State University. Fun to watch so much chain leaving the back deck.

Too bad the weren't around during my stay over Memorial Day... Heck, i had trouble even catching BSP.. But, I think I might of been in a wee bit of trouble hooking a 50# YT with a # 8 hook and 4# leader. ....
