Back when I still could throw big baits all day without needing arthroscopic surgery, I was at DVL chucking a 8" Triple Trout. We went to the back of a cove near the west dam and I flung it deep in there, and backlashed quite nicely. I sat there for 10 minutes picking at it until I finally got it out, and I had already presumed that I would be screwed like a pooch since the water was up and there was so many trees. I knew my bait sank and got stuck.

And sure enough, I start winding in and I'm stuck all right. I start hand lining what I presumed was a tree limb, and since it was coming in, I continued to do so. Finally, when it was straight down, my buddy grabs my line and starts pulling it up and suddenly he lets go and jolts back.

"DUDE! THERE'S A FISH ON THAT!"

And sure enough, the biggest catfish that I have ever seen has my Triple Trout sideways in it's mouth. It looks like a bass with a rapala. I panic and instead of letting the fish run, I clamp down and it breaks me off. The cat had to be at least 40 pounds. So, if anybody caught a big ole cat from DVL that had a Triple Trout sideways in its mouth, hope you enjoy the swimbait.

Throwing a buzzjet jr at morena, fish eats it, runs and snaps 65lb power pro on a rock. Less than 30 minutes later, we hear a two good sized splashes. We see something, motor over, and there’s my buzzjet floating with about ten yards of braid attached. Re-opener at San V. I threw a 10xd 95% of the day. I had a fish rip drag on the strike, and snap me off on 16lb sniper. With an 8’ phenix x15 HC composite rod. Later that day my buddy pulled up to see how we were doing. When I told him what happened, he asked me what color it was. He found it floating near the shore about half mile away. The stock hooks are not weak and a couple were folded out
Great story!
Anything that can happen will happen fishing!
Half the fun is you almost always have a story at the end of the day!!

Half of my arsenal of 6XD’s and 10 XD’s have been donated by other fishermen over the last couple of years. I find at least one lure almost everytime I’m out.

Those deep divers that get stuck and break off eventually float to the surface and then wash up on the bank!
The tackle wearhouse of the lost lure!😃

Can't name how many baits I have found over the years of fishing but I could probably write a small novel about some of them
and how I found them. It seems that no matter what I have found and I have found some pretty cool baits, they never seem to
end up on the end of my line. I may clean them up and even go to the point of putting new hooks on a few lures that I think are
worth it, but that is where it ends.

Anyway...just for laughs.....
Cool, I found this crankbait

I am going to clean it up

After I cleaned it up more and put all new rings
and new hooks on it...can you spot it? ha ha
