El Cap 4/15

Post by Rippinlips »

Another successful day on the lake today. Hit up the same spot as last week and the fish were still there but just not as many. Picked off a few there and then ran down the bank a little for a few more. I ended the day with 7 fish and my buddy got 3. Saw a bunch a guys catching schooled bass on their forward facing sonar which I have to say I’m quite envy. The bass were schooled on bait quite heavy today but couldn’t get them to bite anything we offered . Best five today went around 13 lbs. Fish On!

On a side note I would like to share an experience I had today so hopefully it will help someone. I was almost full throttle headed to the spot this morning when my throttle got stuck and it wouldn’t go back. I was doing about 45 mph and freaked out a little because my throttle was not budging. Ended up doing a 180 and got it to pull back and then shut the motor off. Looking back I had 2 other options that would have been better than the 180 I pulled off. 1. I could have pulled the kill switch and 2. I could have turned the key. 🤦🏼‍♂️ I felt like such an idiot afterwards but I’m glad my fishing partner and I are ok to fish another day because in the moment I was thinking the worst.

First of all, glad you’re safe from that scary experience. That must have been pretty wild and thanks for the insight just in case it ever happens to one of us.
Other than that… sounds like you had a really fun time out there. Looks like you have a good spot where the bass are on the chew. That pic says it all. Thanks for sharing and tight lines always .

Nice!!

My throttle got stuck on my 2 stroke 250 back in the day heading for a cliff. I had to lay it down.

That’s crazy! I tried to duplicate it and make it happen again to see if it was going to be an on going problem but couldn’t make it happen. If it does I’ll be a little more prepared for sure.
