Barrett Sun Sept 6th
Haven’t posted in several years but figured I should, given how helpful the info is from those who do. My daughter and I hit Barrett this past Sunday. Took a chance on the weather and lack of recent intel, but so glad we did. Got on the water a little before 6 and were off by noon. Numbers wise, she got a handful and I ended up with 15. All healthy fish but mostly smaller grade, with a few maybe pushing 2 lbs. Bite was steady enough to keep us having fun all morning. Weather and conditions were pretty epic, cloudy, glassy, some light rain, and very few people on the lake, which made it even better. We got fish on topwater and small cranks early, then the usual plastics and jigs later. Found fish both in tight and out in the 15–20 ft range. Got a couple when we were close enough to make a quick cast to busters. All in all, great morning at Barrett and really glad we made the trip. As others have posted, not the numbers and size we’re used to out there, but still a great way to spend the morning.

Enjoy the time with your daughter. My oldest has been my fishing buddy the last couple years. Now she's off to college for her freshman year. It's a bummer.
