Hit up San V today. Got there about 6:15 and was surprised to find only 3 trailers in the parking lot. Was a beautiful, warm, overcast morning. Perfect for some top water, or so you’d think
Saw some cruisers up shallow so started pitching a dropshot out in front of them. Ended up getting 3 that way and then 3 out deeper on the dropshot. Biggest was only 2lbs but it was great to just be back out on the water.
When I got back to Barona this morning it was deafeningly quiet. I was nice to not hear any boats running around. Needless to say, with it being a holiday weekend, it didn’t last long. Was basically forced off the water at noon. There were 13, THIRTEEN, wakeboard or jet boats just hanging out on Barona, drifting around. Left no where to move around and of course they would drift right on top of where I was casting without a clue they were close to me. The ride back in was an adventure with all of the wakeboarders being pulled around.
Very sad to see how low the lake is getting. Water is super clear. Won’t be long until every bass boat in San Diego will be on either Murray or San V
