Does anyone know what the new boats look like...any pics of the yamaha G3 boats at Barret...even if that's the ones they say they git.

I asked the same of @JWall and this was his reply:

" I did some estimates off pics from the G Boats website and came up with 45x45 and 45x40 squares. We used 1/2 inch plywood. It turns out they could be bigger by an inch on all sides but you also might not want an exact snug fit for the ease of dropping them in. With a 4-finger slot in the middle of each board, they really aren’t heavy at all. We got the idea for the slots from Stand Up Paddle boards. They’re just sorta awkward but the extra trip is well worth it."

New boats are bigger and run more smoothly. Very nice.

Are you guys using any spar urethane coating on the 1/2” plywood?

Put on any carpeting and get that almost real bass boat touch haha?

Gets me to thinking of doing that or go with a 1/2” marine plywood, maybe close to the same weight, guessing 26-32 lbs?

Not sure of those details because we use foam inserts that my buddy built for the old boats. They worked well in the new boat also. For what it's worth, there's a third space in the the new boats that could use another insert but it's not necessary. In fact, I don't think my buddy is making a third. We only put them in the front of the boat. The back isn't too bad for me to get around in.

No coating or carpet. As cheap and easy as they were to make, we could toss em each year and make again. But I think they will last a few seasons.
