Saturday July 12 lots of nice bass

Went to Barrett Saturday morning and they had all the roads closed barricades everywhere so I went back down to see other cars that had kayaks and I asked them what they were going to do, they said they had a plan and I could tag along. Well they got us thru and thanks guys for that! We were the only ones that made it early apparently. Gate opened at 4:00 on the water by 4:15 and it was on. Right off the bat I had a nice one maybe 2 1/2lbs. And it never stopped all day long. My favorite lure to throw was a blue and black jig with a same color crawfish. A couple of bass went around 5 lbs . In the dark I lost some really nice ones but when the sun came up I lost less. I don’t know how many bass I caught but it was awesome! It wasn’t too hot either but the wind was unforgiving after around 11:00am. I stayed till 2:30ish. Fish and game were there doing the work they do (heads-up). No pictures were taken sorry.had a blast and check for road closures before hand and save the headache.

Ive seen them 2-3 times this year. One guy got a ticket for barbed hook. Guy said barb was bent, apparently F&G felt a bit too much was left on the hook and cited him for it.

What’s crazy is when we have found lures or pulled up line/hooks, they’ve all had barbs this year. Its not like its a huge secret that the rules are barbless!!
