I have some questions about jigs

Hey fellas,

Heading into Barrett this weekend and I have seen a lot of reports about jigs working well out here. Never really fished jigs at barret or let alone anywhere and looking for some tips on how to fish em here. Also which style jigs work the best swim? Football? Also any specific spots in Hauser or pine that seem to have more luck than others? Appreciate it fellas.

They work!! Best place to gain some confidence. You might lose a couple getting wedged between boulders tho. Try your best to sense/ feel those and hop over the crevices. The greens have been working but guys throw black n blue as well. About to post a quick report on this morning with some extra 411.

I don't fish jigs much but this year on the opening weekend at Barrett I used them a lot and caught fish nearly every cast haha. I used a mix of black/blue and green pumpkin color jigs skirts+trailers. There a few ways you can feel or tell a bite. One, which seemed most common for me, was feeling little taps, sometimes on the fall but usually once on the bottom. Another bite is where you'll go to reel in some slack line or move the jig and you don't feel any weight (and usually you start to see your line moving). I also found that I didn't need to move the jig much, maybe every 20 seconds or up to a minute, just give it a gentle pop, drag it a bit, or lift it up and set it back down.
