Caught 11 topwater bass at Murray early this morning on this:
Now I'm not gonna lie, most of the bass I caught were less than 2 lbs. Still I gotta say I had an absolute blast with little bass busting on my tiny walking bait cast after cast.
If you haven't tried BFS topwater I highly recommend it. It's a great time!
It's a cheap Tsurinoya 60f topwater walking bait I got via AliExpress. They were really cheap, like $2, but who knows how bad tariffs are going to effect them.BFS topwater at Murray 4/22

Re: BFS topwater at Murray 4/22
How do they walk compared to a larger bait like a Sammy 100?
I have a Sammy 60 and can't walk it with a regular bait caster to save my life. I need to get me a good BFS

I walk the Sammy 60 on my medium-light fast action rod with the Ark Gravity reels. It walks great! The smaller the bait, the faster the cadence it takes to make it walk.
This tiny bait I use the Dobyns 701c ultra finesse rod. The rods definitely make a big difference in how effectively I have been able to walk them. I could NEVER get baits to walk right on my spinning gear. Something about palming the reel really helps me keep a cadence. I like to stop them occasionally too. With the BFS I can start them right back up walking with ease.
If you reel left handed I'm happy to loan you a combo if you want to try it out at some point.

Re: BFS topwater at Murray 4/22
Thanks for the offer! I reel right and cast right. I have a strange technic where I switch hands while the bait is in the air. Especially with baits that I want moving right as they hit the water. Or like a spinner bait where I want the blades spinning the instant it hits the water. I even find myself thumbing the spool with both hands as I make the switch. Never planed it that way, just picked up these crazy habits as time went on.
I too never like throwing topwaters on a spinning reel, just does not work the same.
Very kind of you to make that offer. I hope to see you out on the water sometime. Especially that I seem to be doing a bit more freshwater fishing again lately.
