Now This Was Barrett! 8-17
Barrett buddy Dan and I headed out to Pine at 5:30 and settled into Chris/Pourboy’s favorite jig flat. Was surprised nobody beat us there and we milked 27 bass out of there on 4” pumpkin/purple senkos and 3.5” smokey ghost minnows on 1/16 ball jigs. Putted around Pine a bit more for one here and there but decided to head to Hauser around 9. Had a rare sighting of Popper Dave actually fishing a jig. Chris would be proud lol. Continued to peck away at solid numbers on the same baits all the way to the back when we found the magic bank on the way back to the barn. Dan had snuck a Zoom Fat Albert grub onto his jig head when I noticed he was catching up on a decent lead I’d built up. No way thats happening so I matched the smoke colored grub and we both were nailing them about every third cast for a good hour. Lines out and dock bound at 3pm with 87 total. Biggest were a pair of 3lb 2oz twins with many more in the 2-3lb zone and more than a few pesky dinks. It’s been a while since we have had a true Barrett day and it was way overdue!
