Galen,
However I may now be limited to lake pier fishing, I still throw every thing in my bass tackle box at 'em every time.
But.....as it was with these and seems to be with most others, they all came on a drop-shotted plastic. (Gotta use skinny sinkers; no knot required).
One on 6" RoboWorm rigged weedless, Aaron's Magic Color.
One on pumpkin flaked Kreature (not weedless).
3rd on on 5" pumpkin flaked wacky rigged Senko.
As a transplant to Southern California from the North East (NYS), I will always be frustrated by the fact the all the reservoirs (no natural lakes here) kick you out just when it's getting to be prime time.

I’m with you on the early kick-outs. I’ve been yelled at at least once for not going on the first warning. Ok maybe the second

Not sure if you knew, but that pier you’re fishing from is where the largest documented largemouth bass ever was caught. They even named her “Dottie” for an identifiable mark on her jaw. The fish was supposedly “accidentally” snagged a number of years ago by a big bass angler who was bed fishing. If I remember correctly the fish weighed in at over 24lbs but was not hooked in the mouth so no record.

Having lived a mile away from Dixon Lake for the past 25-years, I am well aware and have a photo of Dottie.galen wrote: Sat Jul 20, 2024 12:22 pm Not sure if you knew, but that pier you’re fishing from is where the largest documented largemouth bass ever was caught. I was fishing the shoreline when I saw those two guys along with an ESPN boat lift up the buoy line near the damn into what is generally a restricted access. Not sure what it took to get that level of access.
Was also shore fishing (when Dixon had a shoreline, now pretty much all tules) when Dottie was found dead at 18 lbs or so.
Believe she weighed in at just a smidge over 25 lbs.
Site fishing is not my thing.
Tight lines,
Stephen

That would be "sight" fishing, not "site."
Sorry 'bout that.
