Any skinny bass I caught early and mid season were tight to the bank. During the same trips, all the healthy and heavier bass were in deeper water. Rippin innards out isn’t gonna hurt. All those bass die eventually. Theres been a few modern studies that show catch and release hurt bass fisheries. Especially for size. Just imagine how many bass are in Barrett and every spawn (which can be multiple times), how many more are introduced, even ...

Always set the drag before the 1st cast. Never adjust the drag during a fight except maybe to loosen it if the fish wraps around weeds or brush which rarely happens.
Most bass upon being hooked will immediately head for deeper, snag-free water.

Quit throwing senkos and start throwing bigger swimbaits in deeper water and secondary points. The bigger models are in there. Not going to get your high numbers but your size will improve a lot.

68 hudd and 8” trash fish works well casting off the points into deep water. Work the bait up hill on the points. I tube so my fins are on the ground when working points. 6” glides and gill type glides work great casting into the rock bluffs. Also don’t discount big top water. Big rats work well ...
