Re: giant bass pictures???
There are, or at least WERE, some big bass in the SD River. This is my PB of 12lb 8oz from the Santee area way back when.

Wild ride at San V today
Hit up San V today for about a dozen cookie cutter 1lbrs plus a couple better fish. Two best went 2.6 and 3.1 both flippin deep bushes. Most of the rest came off various drop shot 6” Roboworms. Got driven off by the wakeboard boats about Noon. Fish were keyed on little 1” shad and breaking but would...

Re: Wild ride at San V today
The wakeboard boats have been insane out there this year. I really hate that they have the whole lake but insist on running right by the boats fishing. Sometimes not even a long cast away! Really irks me.

Re: Wild ride at San V today
I actually threw the bottom three baits yesterday. I can normally skitter/wake them around the books and get them to eat but not yesterday. I’ve got a handful of baits that I usually throw on the breakers with good luck but nothing worked for me yesterday 🤷🏻♂️ The baitfish kept trying to use my boa...

Re: Wild ride at San V today
If you don’t mind flippin or finesse there are plenty of bites to be had. The reaction bite, at least for me, has been largely absent this year. Had a few good days at El Cap on chatterbaits and blades but usually El Cap is a crankbait lake for me and that bite just never showed up for me this year.

Re: Wild ride at San V today
I guess it just comes down to personal preference. I think it just takes things a bit too far, but who’s to say that it IS too far? I was excited to add downscan/ side scan graphs to my boat, as well as spot lock. All just tools to use. I just feel like FF is maybe too big of a piece in putting the ...

A spinnerbait and a worm were all you needed! Things were so much simpler back then

Re: SAN DIEGO SHOCKED!: BASS ANGLER BAGS SALMON IN SAN DIEGO RIVER
Love stories like this! That’s what I have always loved about fishing, you just never know what you’re going to reel in. I’ve caught several turtles, bullfrogs, and even a king snake over the years in our lakes and so many unexpected fish in the ocean it’s impossible to remember them all.

Re: 11/27-Back to the SD River
I do know that there have, on rare occasions, been salmon caught on local sport boats. Haven’t heard of any in recent years and they are extremely rare but I wouldn’t say it is impossible for a stray fish to make its way into the river. By the looks of that fish it looks to be pretty close to the en...

Re: 11/27-Back to the SD River
I am going to sound like a negative Nancy here.....but here are some things in the WON story that to me seem strange. He said he had only a 20 minute window to fish, before going to work. OK...yet there is a float tube there and it just seems illogical to take that out, try to get it out somewhere ...

Re: 11/27-Back to the SD River
Never saw the original report. For it to go from 20min to. 40min window does seem convenient. Unfortunately there is only one person, possibly two, who truly know of this is legit or not.

Re: 11/27-Back to the SD River
I get that but I don’t ever have video going when I’m fishing. Pictures? Yes. Video? Not usually unless I have my son or daughter with me. That part doesn’t really bother me. I guess maybe a cideo of the release (at least) would go a long way to corroborating the story.

San V 12/4 and picture help
Been recovering from shoulder replacement surgery so it’s been about 6 weeks since I’ve been on the water. Hit up San V yesterday not knowing what to expect. Was surprised to see so many fish busting shad between the bushes and the shoreline. Made it very hard to get a bait to them. The fish that we...

Re: San V 12/4 and picture help
Thankfully my Dr has a son who is totally into fishing so he is sympathetic to me needing to get out on the water. I still have limitations but I can set the hook and fight a fish with no issues!
