Re: 3/18-Calm before the Storm
Nice fishes! You wouldn't have wanted to be on the water if the thunderstorm we had would of headed your direction...wise move getting off the water!

Some fun on the home lake!
I got to the lake a little before sunrise, under cloudy, chilly conditions. There's still alot of water coming into the lake from the major creeks still, keeping the water temp kind of frosty feeling! I started the day throwing a small jerkbait and quickly hooked up with a couple size challenged ...

Re: Some fun on the home lake!
That is a nice fat bass!
It seems you always find a way to mix it up when you need to and catch bass ...especially with the water
level rising each week and bass finding new areas to explore. More water means that soon I will be up there
to fish my rock pile. I guess you better bring some ...

I'd say about 6'...the ramp is in the water now..with a big sign that says "launch at your own risk".KillinTime wrote: Sat Mar 30, 2024 5:50 pm That fist one is a good looking fish.
How much has the lake level come up since the opener?

Re: 4/8-You guessed it....Murray
Looks like most of them were hooked on the left side of their mouths. Must be the killer hookset technique.=)
Actually the Damiki bait fell out of the blind eye bass when I landed him in the boat so I just hung it there for the pic. I hold bass
with my right hand when I take a pic and hold ...

I can lip a bass 5' from my tube or boat...KillinTime wrote: Tue Apr 09, 2024 10:40 am That's one hell of a way to lip a bass. You loose less of them too, since you don't have to get them close to the boat=)

Friday on the home lake!
I got to the lake at sunrise, clear skies and a light breeze. Soon I noticed a fog bank crawling over the dam, followed by the wind picking up and in no time the lake was engulfed in fog with a 20' visibility! I'm guessing the lake is up another 8'-10' from 2 weeks ago, another challenge to deal ...

Re: Friday on the home lake!
Beautiful day in a Cumberland! Personally I love foggy conditions. However too foggy makes me nervous on a float tube. One time at Murray I got caught out in the middle of the lake in fog so thick that visibility was maybe 20 feet. For about an hour I had no idea where I was.
I was happy that ...

Definitely better than last year, wish it was up about 15' more to put my rock piles in a better depth. I think my lost fish was an easy 4lbs..always are when you lose them......KillinTime wrote: Mon Apr 15, 2024 11:43 am Looks like your home lake is doing much better than last year. Nice fish! Re: 4/15-Murray-Fishing deep session
I just threw that bigger spoon on because I was working deep water for close to three hours and I just figured I’d try it for a while because I had nothing to lose. I really jazzed and lucky when a bass slammed it. When I got another bass on that bigger spoon, I realized that there is another ...

Re: 4/21 afternoon sesh at Cap
In heavy cover, try a small finishing nail slipped into the worm behind the hook. With a Texas rigged hook it is virtually snag free and is smooth so it goes thru the algae. Very inexpensive little trick from the 70s when I listened intently to the Bass Pros in my Dads Fishing Club, the Fullerton ...

Cold, soggy...worth it!
I should be use to this weather..the never ending winter! I'll start out by saying "Paul stole my fish"...! I started the day fishing that area, my secret spot, threw the same jerkbait as he did and when it didn't produce right off..I gave up on it! Ok, my mistake, but that fish had my name on it ...
