One of my favorite baits to throw. Had countless doubles and it’s the only bait I’ve seen catch three fish on one cast. They also catch the good ones ...

Re: Murray report 3/28

I modify the finesse A-rig into a "chandelier rig' putting 4 willow blades on the outside arms with a short wire leader in the middle to extend it back a bit with a 1/16-1/8 oz/3" swimbait trailer. Only one hook to deal with and the same illusion of a small school of fish. The straggler gets it ...

Re: Murray report 3/28

Hey Dannicus, I'm with you on BFS, but I am willing to throw a double fluke, you take a 3-way swivel and do a dropper on your main line with a shorter terminal line. It's like the umbrella rig for the BFS crowd.

Nice report. We were there last week on Friday and didn't see you.

Some fun on the home lake!

I got to the lake a little before sunrise, under cloudy, chilly conditions. There's still alot of water coming into the lake from the major creeks still, keeping the water temp kind of frosty feeling! I started the day throwing a small jerkbait and quickly hooked up with a couple size challenged ...

First time in the tube! Murray 4/6

Weather finally cooperated and bro and I finally got to take the float tubes out for their maiden voyage. We figured Murray would be a great place to start as it’s a smaller body of water. We launched about 8am and basically just kicked a lap around the lake starting in Padre cove fishing along the ...

I barely inflate the backrest on my prowler and keep the adjusters loose. Less is definitely more

Re: First time in the tube! Murray 4/6

Tubing is its own thing, and it sort of lends itself to slowing down/finesse fishing for the most part. You can’t cover a lot of water, being low in the water makes using many baits and even longer rods hard to fish. I’ve only had round tubes since I was a kid. Always adjusting myself in the seat. I ...

Re: First time in the tube! Murray 4/6

I had others plans and errands to run and wish I could have fished today, but when you told me you and your brother would
be out with your new tubes at Murray, I just had to stop by the lake. It was great to see you out there and I have never fished
out of one, but you guys looked comfortable like ...

Re: First time in the tube! Murray 4/6

Very nice, tubing is a fun experience. Keep at it and then think about heading to the big bay...salt is a whole other (fun) animal.

Re: First time in the tube! Murray 4/6

Your rods leaning over must be annoying. Probably need a bungee to go from the bottom of the rack under the tube to the D-ring on the opposite side. Having to readjust your seat is pretty normal. Getting things dialed in is part of the challenge.

I built a stabilizer bar for it that connects to ...

4/8-You guessed it....Murray

Just for today..... I am going to save you guys from reading me babbling on and on.
So here are a few pics of some fish I caught in (McFish will be shocked again) water depths
around 25-35 feet of water.
Hopefully the warmer weather will spur up more action in closer. Tight lines :-)

Hodges report April 10

Hello all,

Got out bright and earlyish to Hodges. Something like 0630. No wind at all and water temp was 62F. Also no blanket of fog on the water, so you could see pretty well. Kind of made me miss the fog. Water was warm enough for me to poke around with the popper, and follow with the spinnerbait ...

It has been a while since I stuck a big one....

Just checking in once again from Norcal...... as it is spawn/post spawn almost.... I stuck this 12.12 on a free rig brush hog just this past weekend after placing 6th in a 210 Kayak tournament on clear lake. Sharing fish is all I am here for! Once again its nice to drop in and read up on how the ...

Shooooot. Absolutely NOTHING wrong fishing live bait.

Re: First time in the tube! Murray 4/6

I got my first float tube in 1981, and still doing it. Had a bass boat, inflatable dingy, kayak, and I just keep coming back to the tube. With the Bixpy motor underneath it I don't even have to worry about the wind. To me, it's the perfect fishing platform. That having been said, even after all ...
