Re: Barrett Report August 28

Vinny, Chuck and I have both had a lot of fun with them, he gave me one to use last year and it's been producing. There's also the Megabass I-wing and the inexpensive Heddon Crawler, which I have also been very happy with.

Re: Barrett Report August 28

I pride myself with having so many various lures from the decades of fishing all over my garage, house, boat and even in my kayak...but
I have never had a flying fish type of bait or a bait with wings. Oh wait...I got it.... I guess it is called a Pompadour. That bait is crazy looking and even ...

Re: Barrett Report September 7

Holy crap Vinnie is correct you are a stud. The thought of driving 90 minutes to lug my pontoon to the edge of the water and set it up has me already melting in this heat. Im sure glad you do it so i can read what im missing in the comfort of my lazyboy with a/c blowing across my prone body. You ...

Re: Lizard time

Nice job!
Using lizards eh? I forgot about those. I better go in the garage and bring some out of retirement...ha ha
I have not fished Barrett in decades and it would be nice if it was open year round especially
because so many anglers love to fish there...........or would that be a bad thing ...

Re: Lizard time

Nice report and it was so funny when you cast the lizard in the middle of the lake, announcing that it was the most unlikely place to get a fish and then your pole bent over and you got that fatty in the first picture. It was a fun day yesterday. It was also pretty cool to watch that osprey nail ...

Wednesday 11 September

I am so glad to follow my gut when it said "ya gotta get to Barrett". My main objective besides catching fish was to test out the pontoon boat. I had just added a 100 ah lithium battery and also I added butt steer. A couple bungee cords to seat and shaft of motor. I finally got the pontoon dialed in ...

Catchy Saturday 9-14

Quick report and sorry it won’t help the guys today. Slow senko morning for us in Pine at previously good spots. But there was a pattern as we came across Dave Early Release and he was slaying them on jerkbaits. We flipped over to Hauser about 9:30 and worked the banks for schoolie sized biters all ...

Re: Catchy Saturday 9-14

Vinny, come out there with us. It's an easy launch for a kayak and the fishing is great, but like you said there's a lot of great people who fish there.

I'll just add to John's post, since I didn't get around to posting. I did have good success on Saturday, but I went a bit rogue for me, and tied ...

Wed 18 report

Got to lake @4:30,cold, light wind, cloudy,it was a little busy, met Dave on the water and decided to head to Pine since I haven’t been since the beginning of the year. Slow picking on wacky rig, got a couple on crank bait and also one on a glide bait which I never throw.

Barrett Report September 21st

Hi

We are getting to the end of the Barrett season, only a couple more days of the lake being open. Got there around 0500 and it was a pretty packed lot at pigs, so everyone was getting their last casts in, I'd guess. Air temp was cool, water temp was 71-72F. Maybe a little breeze occasionally, but ...

Season finale 9/28 Big B Report

Had some fun and some decent angling with my buddy Max at the Barrett closer today. Max got a couple nice four pounders before I even got warmed up. Not much topwater action for us today though. I had a steady pick on the mutilator mutilator and the new Yamamoto Slinko that I Carolina rigged. We got ...

Sunday Apr 6

So the early charity and insider club season is on for 2025 and it sure looks like this year is going to bust out with both numbers and size. I was fortunate enough to get an invite today and happily paid the premium for myself and the better half. After a very chilly morning (low 40’s if that) the ...
