Re: Amazing Murray Story 12/27
Thanks guys, yeah I thought it was kind of a silly thing to get worked up over. I share baits and techniques that I am having success with all the time. I am fortunate to be retired and fish quite a bit. A lot of guys get much more limited opportunities, so if I can share anything that's been ...

Re: Amazing Murray Story 12/27
I stopped posting here because too many knuckleheads were either pissed that I was letting the cat out of the bag, or flat out calling me a liar.
I started fishing just before SDFISH started. I learned so much from reading posts from the “regulars”. I’m eternally grateful for that. Keep up the ...

Re: Amazing Murray Story 12/27
One thing that I’ve always loved about this forum (more the previous iteration, but still now) is the willingness to share information. I’ve learned new techniques, areas to fish, hot spots and general ideas. I think that was kind of why this was formed. True, there are individual special spots that ...

Re: 12/3- Two for Tuesday/SD River
I never used it much or caught a lot of rat fish, but it wasn't bad when I did.
This the big Spro- and a post spawner from you can guess the lake.
I would like to see you catch one on a rat and report back, Vinny!

The one that got away 1/9
Those who know me are probably aware that I have never caught a double digit bass. Oh I've flirted with it, with my PB being a 9.8, but nope, after 41 years of SCAL bass fishing, I've never managed to pull that one off. In 2024 my best was an 8 pounder at Hodges. I caught a bunch over five with a ...

Re: The one that got away 1/9
On another note, I've already ordered my replacement BFS rod. It's a Cashion Icon series purchased directly from the manufacturer. I can't wait to try it out. Now I have my eye on that new Bates Hundo BFS reel....looks sweet!

Otay 1/12
5 clones around 1.5 pounds each. One decent bass (pictured). All the little ones came courtesy of a 2" bluegill colored crankbait. The larger one hit a white and pearl chatterbait.
Pretty slow day but still fun.

San Vee - Happy New Year
The monotony of Monday morning was broken when the phone started buzzing, as my tourney partner made his usual call.
"Hey, I can't fish on Saturday. Can you fish on Friday instead?"
"Look who you're asking here," I responded.
"Don't you ever work? Don't you have a job?"
"Yeah, sure. Where ...

First of the year...
Well...I am still at it, although not as often. If memory serves me correctly, this is the first bass of the year for me. That I got to shore anyway after having my line snapped (methinks I was a bit too excited) on what should have been the first about a week ago. Oh well this little one actually ...

The Captain 1/14
I woke to a text yesterday from VinnyBass reminding me that it was the second Tuesday of the month and Murray was closed. Lucky thing too or that's inevitably where I would have headed. I pivoted and decided to head to El Capitan instead.

Re: Murray: Has not been exciting
For me Vinny it's been hit or miss lately at Murray. Thursday I caught 7 clones as we discussed. Yesterday I threw the same lures in the same places and caught 3 drinks in 4 hours. Go figure.

Supposed to be colder temps and rain coming in Feb and March. Hopefully that means a little more water too.

Hood (Baby) Hawgs
The clock hadn't hit 11 am and Edna from Accounts Receivable had gotten on my last nerve. Usually this happens around 3 pm, but this was a new record for her. All morning, she had been asking ME , the Sr Project Manager, when we started billing a new client of ours, when SHE , the head of Accounts ...

You should have been here yesterday!
Hey all,
I hope that your January bass fishing has been amazing so far. After trying several of the local lakes lately with limited success at each I'm kinda wondering if anyone is doing well on the lakes right now. I had a great time fishing with Dannicus on Otay last week but it was...TOUGH! I ...
