Re: Barrett Big Bass

Thanks for the report, great commentary and footage Pourboy — watched this start to finish with my boys. Congrats on that beautiful fish. I’ve gotten blown up numerous times this season after leaving my lure unattended for whatever reason. Always a nice surprise!

Re: 2/18-Back to SD River

Thanks for the update Vinny -- always appreciate them. I haven't caught a bass in months (also haven't been fishing much so there's that). This gives me some motivation.

Re: Big Bay Sunday 2-2 Spotties MIA

Hey John, just seeing this post. We were out there the same day! Interesting experience for us as well -- the spotties were oddly few and far between. We had some variety though -- caught quite a few smelt, a small flounder, a large ray, a few small halibut, and this one -- just an inch under a ...

How has Theo allowed this lack of activity?! Has he discovered girls or something else as nefarious? 😜

For us it was a decent day -- especially if I don't read the forums where folks are catching 50+ solo! We caught around 20 total and had a blast :-)

Re: Double Digit Bass! 2 Bites, 2 Big fish

Fantastic fish! Fishes? Thanks for the inspiration Chris. And don’t worry about the haters — sounds like an honest mistake.

Re: Sunday Apr 6

Looks and sounds like a dream day lads… and maybe a precursor of great things to come this season!

I wasn’t privvy to the charity event unfortunately… Hoping to scrounge some May tickets so me and Theo can get out there… we were at his baseball game and the connection was horrible - got skunked in ...

[SOLD] Trade: May 24 boat ticket

Hey gang,

I’d like to trade my 5/24 boat ticket for any day in May except 5/11 and 5/25. In addition to a direct boat/boat trade option, I’m open to trading my boat ticket for a shore ticket — or two — plus cash (just to the value of the boat ticket). Thanks!

Re: Top water Opener

Awesome news! And… what’s the story with the double up? Did you catch two on one lure?

Mother’s Day report (sorry mom)

It was a great to return to Barrett Sunday and probably better than mimosas. Theo and I got on the water at 6:30. It was the maiden voyage for Bassquatch -- our new two person fishing solution (a 10' pond prowler) which worked light years better than sticking Theo on the front of my tube ...

Re: Mother’s Day report (sorry mom)

I didn't realize that was you guys when you were talking to Chris. Apologies, I didn't say hi to you guys. I was over by that rock losing a good fish and then losing multiple lures trying to get him back. Agree on Sunday that topwater had no action and talked to another person who couldn't get ...

Re: Mother’s Day report (sorry mom)

Great, detailed report! Reaper Boy may have to change his name to Ned lol. We learned last spring not to depend too much on the chase baits and have done much better on the deeper plastics. There will be plenty of time for the chasers later. Can’t wait to see Bassquatch too. Solid upgrade for you ...

Dfishin wrote: Mon May 12, 2025 2:17 pm Congrats on a great day. It's nice you picked up a rig to fish out of, but really happy you picked up a scale!
Were you in hauser?
Yes the scale comes in handy and makes for less fishy fish stories ;). And yes, we were focused on Hauser.

Re: Why post fake reports?

My 1st time at barret was a few years ago during opening month .. and I was only able to land 7 bass(biggest about 2lbs) the next few times I only landed 10-15 fish a trip (all day) I remember saying to myself "why all the hype " and ''there's no way people catch 100 fish a day".... fast forward ...

Do you count your fish?

Maybe an odd question, but do you count your fish? If so, why?

I primarily fish with my 9-year-old son Theo, and like a lot of you, we’ve made a habit of counting how many fish we catch. It started simply enough — it’s not hard to remember 4 fish days —but as we’ve improved, I’m happy to say that ...

Re: Mother’s Day report (sorry mom)

What are you powering that with? And what battery ? Looks like a great time . Congrats

I’ve got a 55lb Newport with a Lithium 100ah battery. Battery powers us all day all around the lake with little drain. Motor was initially transom mounted and worked fine. I read that they work much better on ...

Re: Do you count your fish?

Thanks for the feedback guys! I’m going to approach as mini-competition count days, and other days when I want to explore new areas and new techniques not worrying about fish counts. I think there is definitely fun to be had with both approaches.

Have you considered the type of strong magnet they use for magnet fishing? Decent ones are only $30 on Amazon.

Re: Do you count your fish?

@jwall you might have me there — maybe I’m just frustrated because Theo el Machino’s counts are blowing mine away these days. In my defense, I was only counting lipped fish and someone has to drive the boat! I may sabotage his gear to level the playing field. Shhhhh…
