Little staycation
Stayed at Paradise Point for my GF’s birthday weekend. Got a nice room on the north cove and saw some of the crazy tide swings. Of course I had to bring my gear, luckily she is very understanding of my obsession 😂. Between outings and “ahem”’ other activities, I had morning, afternoon, and night ...

Re: Little staycation
The resort grounds are really beautiful, especially at night. It’s all very tropical and well maintained. Pricey though as to be expected. We had a bayside bungalow I believe, on north cove. Separate living and bedroom, small kitchenette with keurig, microwave, small fridge and freezer. Around $900 ...

Re: Things are coming along - Kentucky
Just showed these photos to the wife for comparison. See honey, I’ve got a long way to go!
I have the best wife; she just comes out to the workshop and quietly reminds me who owns the 13lb and twin 10lbs largemouth bass records mounts, and I reply, " You baby" One day I'll catch a double-digit ...

Roncador's 2024 fishing slide show
Haven't done too much fishing this year at least locally. Anyways figured I'd share some photos with you all since I haven't posted here In a while. I find it rather difficult to upload photos on here so I made a little slide show to post.

Re: Roncador's 2024 fishing slide show
Great looking trips. Who did you fish with in Cabo?
My grandpa, we try to go almost every year. Usually stay in the same little apartment above this liquor store. Been going with the same panguero for a while. Poncho is his name, my grandpa went with his dad Ramon for more than 20 years. Ramon ...

Mmmmm, brownies!
It was suppose to snow yesterday (Saturday)with a high of 36 degrees...but we wanted to go fishing anyway. So off to the lake we went, watching the swirling snow blow across the highway. By the time we hit the shoreline, just a few big flakes were falling out of the sky and the sun would be peeking ...

Re: Not totally fishing related
Lake Perris has World Class Rock Climbing at Bernisconi Beach on the South side of the lake. Parking nearby, just have cash for the Iron Ranger, ones, fives, and a ten will cover the fee with exact change. From beginner to expert with experts usually around to learn from.

The Far One 4/27
Hit the road at 6:30am and made the 1hr 20 minute trek from Oceanside to the most remote lake in San Diego County. Got my boat all dried up the night before but arrived to find out my cooler had tilted over and spilled all the melted ice into the boat 😩 Spent 20 mins getting that all dried up and ...

May 9- Lake Miramar
Knowing that 15 north morning traffic on a weekday gets crazy and going south in the late afternoon a lot worse, I decided to head up to Lake Miramar and put in a little fishing time in my kayak. Knowing that I need to make the most of my time on the water I quickly headed across the lake.

Not even the trout are safe from you!
Ha ha! I caught that one by accident.
All I know is those trout were really aggressive.
Anyone going out who just threw a spoon, rooster tail( do people still use them?) or some type of trout related reaction bait, I think can catch a limit. They were fast ...

San V Monday chow time...
20230605_092419.jpg June gloom..just what the fish ordered! Water temp 70-73, air temp not that nice! A stiff breeze blowing most of the day. I got on a solid pattern right from the start, working a dropshot in 15'-20', off steeper banks with rocks! I brought 23 fish to the boat, not counting a few ...

Success at Sutherland
Fair to count this as clickbait. I have heard rumors of success at Sutherland but personally, I have none to report. First one on the water and fished 6 hours without a bite! Saw one fellow catch a fish. A better man!
