Below is the San Diego City Lakes Schedule to use mostly as a reference.
I posted this because it is not fun to drive all the way to a lake and find out it is closed that day.
First of all, Lake Hodges is CLOSED.
Lake Barrett will be opening in May(May 3rd, I believe?)
I am not sure about Upper ...

Post em!!!
Ok Kids, the site is here and I know you're all fishing...so let's see some reports! The site only works if we see what your catching! We can't all rely on Mr. Vinnybass and his one pounders to keep this going..lol ! We don't care about the size of the fish, we just want to see fish! Size doesn't ...

Re: Tip of the day
Carry a small piece of rubber sheet, (cut up an old inner tube). Run it over leader line coils to straighten it out. Works like magic.

Re: Missed Opportunities
Pause then keep working it. Unless you swing for the fences on a plastic worm, chances are it’s curled up on the hook, then I reel it in quickly to re set.

Re: Best Wind Direction ?
How much does the wind affect the bass visibility?
Wind disturbs the surface and stirs up the water itself, which reduces visibility.
It stirs up sediment, which also affects water clarity, and the fish's visibility.
One of my favorite tactics when the wind comes up is finding mudlines. Throw ...

Re: Tip of the day
To convert mono line capacity of a reel to braid capacity, multiply by 3.75* (mono test in lbs)/(braid test in lbs)
Approximate since mono and braid will vary somewhat in diameter by brand.

Re: Drop-Shot Fishing Simulator
Here is a simple formula that works:
H=distance from rod tip (as being held) to the lake bottom
L=amount of line out in feet (from rod tip to sinker). L>H.
B=distance from bait to the drop shot sinker
B''=distance from the bait to the lake bottom
All numbers in the same units (feet in the examples ...

Murray AM
Heck, out of all the guys on SDFish, it seems like only a few go bass fishing based on the amount of actual new posts each week.
I know that there are slow times for everyone when you may only catch one or a few small ones, but why not share it. I understand there are some guys who like to keep ...

Re: The BFs "Craze"
1/32??? I can't even imagine casting anything less than 1/8.
When you cast such light baits which is more important for getting the furthest cast possible, the reel or the rod? Spinning & baitcaster gear
IMO the reel. You want a lighter, shallower spool with less startup inertia to sling those ...

Re: The BFs "Craze"
BFS for bass doesn’t have to be 1/32oz or even 1/16oz lures. Any lure in 1-2” range with 1/8oz weight should be able to control more efficiently. With that said I’d rather catching a bass with 3/8jig than lucky craft SP 50 all day long. BFS is very effective in small communities pond with high ...

8/17-Lake Mur...I mean Miramar
Thought about Murray, but instead headed up to Lake Miramar again for a morning of fishing with my kayak. I figured I would try to go get'em while I can because after Labor Day, there will be no boats, kayaks, float tubes allowed on the water I was told as they will be working on a big water project ...

Re: SD lakes closed Sun. and Mon.
As far as I can tell, as of 5 pm on Sunday, the storm is a bit of a bust! What's new for our predicted rain storms, huh?

Small Murray reaction bass
Just a short update that after some recent trips to Murray.....there are still plenty of small bass reacting to reaction baits.
While it is always nice to catch a healthy bass, it has still been fun trying different baits to catch these little buggers.
At least they are hungry.....ha ha. :-)

Re: East county tackle and bait
in east county, right down the road from ECBT, theres Anglers Arsenal on Woodside Ave....
Its same building as what use to be Lakeside Bait & Tackle....
Selection isnt as big as ecbt, they do have custom hand poured plastics,
Also from my experience Anglers Arsenal is also cheaper than ecbt.

Fluorocarbon Leader
Im looking for some advice on what lb test of fluorocarbon leader I should be using when using 15lb or 25lb braided line.
Does it really matter if it’s 100% Fluro ?

Re: Used torn soft plastics
Never used mendit on zman, not sure if it would work but it works on just about everything else. From splicing baits, fixing hook holes and tears.
