The Best advice I ever got , 40 years ago, was get a Float Tube. For very little cost, you can skip shore fishing and fish every “unaccessible by shore” spot easily. I’ve caught so many more fish because of it. You get access to all the docks in the Harbor, you can fish the steep rocks at the lakes ...

While you can get away with swim trunks in the ocean in the summer months, all the city lakes require waders and no direct water contact, but I agree, a float tube will change your life as far as fishing goes. So little shore is available in a lot of our lakes in comparison to getting on the water.

You can also Trunk it at Lake Perris, Elsinore, Silverwood, Gregory, Big Bear, Castaic, Piru, Casitas, Pyramid, and all the Colorado River Lakes.

Agree, get a tube, fins, and waders. But just know a boat will be next

Float tube is my favorite way to fish. Some prefer kayak or boat, a few prefer shore. Lots of others on this site who like the tube.

I know a guy who likes float tubes best as well! I've tried the others but love the way I fish in a tube.
