Re: Outboards on aluminum boats?
You're obviously not supposed to bring your own outboard powered aluminum craft and add an extra boat to the lake. People have bent the meaning of "float tube/kayak" real far at this point. What a legitimate kayak can do has also changed a ton since the old days though. You can easily sink 20k ...

Re: Looking to share any open float tube or boat spot on June 4th. For 2
June 4th is closed! First Wednesday of every month is a no-go.
Not sure about you mean about trying on the 31st, as all tickets were sold out on May 13th.
Maybe someone with a Saturday or Sunday ticket can be purchased.

Re: 2026 Barrett poll/ideas?
Thanks for thinking of all of us. As for the whole season in April, I don't think so. I like the month to month. Planning that far ahead can be challenging and I can see at least May and June selling out in a moment. Speaking for myself I don't always know what my work/life schedule will be that far ...

Re: 2026 Barrett poll/ideas?
DEFINITELY month to month. This allows greater flexibility, planning, and opportunity for people to secure tickets despite missing out on tix from a month that sells out.
This is the only question you mentioned from the poll, but given that some are chiming in with other observations/requests:

Re: 2026 Barrett poll/ideas?
I don’t recall if it was me, but I agree, complaining can draw the wrong attention. It’s a common thing when living out here in the sticks, all the flat landers want to do away with the dirt roads. Then the driving just gets faster and faster, leading to more problems

Re: Trout stocking at Barrett
A yearly stocking of tilapia might. They would eat that nasty filamentous algae that infests the lake in the summer too. They would have to be restocked every year as they die off when the water temperature drops below 55F. The Mexican lakes with the big bass have tilapia (year around though). They ...

Re: Barrett report May 17th
Nice car and a half width, smooth clean “ramp” into the water. Water is above where the road used to take a hard left into the cove. All the parking is perpendicular to the cove, leaving pigs main road into the water open. People were mostly wheeling kayaks to the ramp. Some guys backed up at the ...

Re: Opener
That 1st pic is awesome.
Elaztech baits and I have a love hate relationship.
My Pros; They last for so long and have good buoyancy when you want a slower rate of fall.
My Cons; Hard to rig, and they don't play nice with other plastics and silicone. So you have to keep them away for all your ...

Sunday May 11 report
It finally happened for me, I had one of the absolutely epic days that Barrett is known for. Started going last year and had some solid days but this was on a totally different level. Pretty much non-stop bites all day. Don’t know what my total count was but it had to have been pushing 100. All day ...

Re: Sunday 8/10
You know, it's like Pourboy said yesterday when we were leaving; people sometimes hear the stories about Barrett, and think you just have to throw in a line, and you'll catch a bunch of fish, but that's not necessarily true. You still have to know how to locate fish and apply good techniques to get ...
