Re: Float tube essentials....
I use an old beef jerky zip lock bag, the hooks don't snag in that type plastic and it takes up less room than a tub. Either way, critical for saltwater fishing.

Just a few from Santee while the site was down.
All caught on ikas, flukes, or senkos. The weather this winter has made the spring bite funky. Not getting as many bites as I usually get on reaction baits this time of year.

Re: What happened to the old SDFish?
Eh, finger pointing and back biting going on already. No news there. It's always 'that guy' .. heh. Probably just post a report here once in awhile, if you all don't want me here, just say so... It's all water under the bridge. Let's move on. From here on out I will be removing any posts related to...

Re: Got one
Solid fish! Green/White Clouser? Yep. Floating line with a 12ish ft leader. I like using the floating line in shallow bay spots. I gotta hit strouds and refresh my clouser supply. Bought some from Amazon last year and they were poor quality. We gotta meet up. I've got so many extra clousers. I tie ...

Murray 4/12-Brrrrrrrr!
Hit Murray with my kayak today as a cold front set in. The cool air blowing across the lake make me think like I was fishing on a cold February day...ha ha I did not have much success as I only caught a couple dinks on a small spoon and a small bass on an underspin and that was it. I had one other b...

Old SDBay Info Post from SDFish
Letting everyone know that the Wayback Machine (internet archive) has some priceless SDFish items saved, like the DJThrills piece: https://web.archive.org/web/20210422000049/https://sdfish.com/forums/t/fishing-san-diego-bay.163428/ It LOOKS LIKE the SDFish site but is actually only a "snapshot&...

4/14 Reds and Reds
Great fishing on the DD for some taco eaters. Great time on the water, good time with friends. I was stressed to fish a straight forward rig as possible. I fished 80lb to 40lb with 16oz of lead, 3/0s, wished I fished 5/0s. Caught my 4 reds, my girl caught 4, and then I stopped fishing after another ...

Backbreaking weekend...
Had an afternoon and an early morning session. North county reefs. Mostly used 13 ft rod and 40 lb mainline to cast over the reef edge. #2 and #1/0 circle hooks. The best fish is always the one that was lost. How true! This morning I felt some smaller fish biting, some were fairly strong. Then Bam! ...

Re: Clips or No Clips
IMHO, no clips. Fresh knots can be a blessing in disguise. If you need a loop for a lure to swim free like a jerk bait or top water, learn the rapala knot. Super quick. And you can even tie a double rapala knot for heavy stuff with lighter line. Never had the rapala knot fail. My pb 13lb bass was on...

I'm back for good
Folks, I do apologize for being at least partially responsible for this forced upgrade from .com to .org by my postings in the old Lounge since I never had something meaningful to brag for and post on other forums. Having said this, I may only rarely post here but I'll strictly follow the rules. The...

Re: Fishy Trips Potential Next Week?
Just got off the Mission Belle. Landed 4 between 25 and a touch over 30, all fly line baits. 3 on the 70 year old jigstick and one on the 60 year old trueline. Tight lines and following seas my friends...

Surf Fly Fishing Primer post from old SDFISH
The surfzone is an ever changing environment where the best locations on a beach can change from day to day, tide to tide, or even during a tide. Storm surges or heavy surf alter beaches quite rapidly. Some beaches, or even sections of beaches, will fish better on outgoing tides and others on incomi...
