Are you frozen solid by now???

This winter has been a lot better than last winter. the water is all frozen over in Wyoming, but Utah has been having much milder weather. If the high pass 191 highway isn't closed, I can get to ...

Another Personal Best 04/03/24
Welp. the weather finally stared to get warm up here in Wyoming. A lot of the ice has begun to melt on the Flaming Gorge, and all the ice is gone in the lower half of the reservoir. The last couple of months has been pretty slow, and I have been skunked throughout most of February and March. So when ...

The Flaming Gorge finally thaws out. 04/10/24
Last week was the last holdout for ice in the Flaming Gorge. Everything below and above Little Firehole was open water.

Great report and that's one crazy looking pink brown! Glad that you had fun at Flaming Gorge.
Do you ever fish below the dam on the Green River? That's some of the best trout fishing in the U.S. and can be good year-round!! There are up to 15,000 trout per mile along there.

FINALLY! A couple of chonkies from the Gorge
Today was the day that I decided to try out a spot that I had scouted out back in February at Flaming Gorge. It's always trout season up here, but spring brings the smallies around the rock piles, and I have always wanted to catch a small mouth bass, especially seeing as how I miss the green bassies ...

Re: How to stop lures slipping off hooks ?
or you could put a drop of superglue on the shank and head of the worm to make it stay longer. I personally like to use wide gap offset shank hooks for all my plastics, and found that Owner makes Rig N hooks down to size 4. Those help delay plastics "droop" too.

Re: 5/24- Return to Lake D & K
Looks like a good time was had by all, even the bass. I sure do miss the days of the "clone wars" on that lake.

Sum sum summatime in the Uintas
After my joyful but brief success at catching my first smallmouth bass, I wasn't able to locate anymore, so it was back to catching trout. But as the weather warmed up, so did Flaming Gorge, bringing masses of sun and watersport seeking recreationalists out to the area.

Re: Favorite soda
Royal Crown. But can't find it in my area. I like Coca Cola that is bottled in Mexico, where they use cane sugar instead of high fructose corn syrup to sweeten it.

Re: 7/8- Miramar fun and done!
Ben there, done that. Coming down sick on the water is a bummer, and even worse if you see your boss on the water also, and you are supposed to work the late shift in retail. It isn't very convincing, if he saw you fishing earlier and then you called in sick!

They certainly failed to secure all adjacent areas....so in that respect....yes. Will not speculate if it went beyond being just negligent.

Re: Too much spam
That had to be the world record or spam posts in the last 24 hours. My little typing fingers got worn out reporting them. There must have been close to 200 hundred of them, certainly over 150.

A Slow Summer and Winter coming on up north
Early summer started off with a bang up in northern prairieland. The Uinta mountains offered up great trout fishing in June, and the Flaming Gorge still had some hungry trout near the shorelines. As summer wore on and the mountain lakes had their water drawn down for irrigation duty (and the creek ...

Mmmmm, brownies!
It was suppose to snow yesterday (Saturday)with a high of 36 degrees...but we wanted to go fishing anyway. So off to the lake we went, watching the swirling snow blow across the highway. By the time we hit the shoreline, just a few big flakes were falling out of the sky and the sun would be peeking ...
