She was caught on 2 lb line and a piece of nightcrawler, 18 feet deep on ...

April 8, 2023 Tidelands
I will kick of this forum with the 1st post. I had been fishing South San Diego Bay for the last few month, had the quantity but not the quality of spotties. Got 29 spotties, 1 mackerel, 1 corvina and 1 halibut (18") float tubing yesterday. The spotties were nice sized for a change, several in the ...

Dorado zarrandeado
So I butterflied out a dorado to cook for my family's early labor day party. It's not a true zarrandeado since I didn't do it over hot coals but 45 min on the smoker and a few on the grill for some color does the trick.

Re: March 22 Flyover
We had a great time at Baccarac and it's true, my best fish was caught on a popper. Love those things. Chuck caught some big fish on the popper, but got the fish of the trip on a crankbait. He only had one of this squarebill, so everytime he'd get hung up, it was kind of stressful to get it back ...

Re: SHARE returns to the Big B
For those that are going on Sunday, you can catch them on your favorite ways. Senkos, underspins, flukes, jerk baits, darker chater baits, rattle traps. No top water action or shad busting yet. Lake is full. Water is about 59-62 and very clear. Fish are on the bank to about 12' water. They are in ...

Re: Help save Barrett Lake
Tons of email will help. When they were getting ready to close the lakes during Covid, we organized CARFA and started an email campaign to keep the lakes open. So many fisherman sent emails to the mayor and city council , they told me to tell the group to stop the emails as they were getting flooded ...

Re: SHARE returns to the Big B
Saturday was pretty excellent. It was one of those, 'pick your favorite bait' and go at it.
I will say though, that after speaking to most of the guys there, there were a few that got both numbers and size.

Re: SHARE returns to the Big B
Had a decent day fishing flylined pumpkin/purple senkos while the girl tossed reapers. Caught 25 fish between us that included a beast bluegill, a solid crappie, and 3 of the 23 bass in the 3-4lb class. The lake is setting up for a rockin year!!

Re: SHARE returns to the Big B
Hauser. We headed for Echo Cove and basically stayed there all day. Not prolific numbers but breeze-protected and a steady bite. Lunch by the waterfall didn’t hurt either. Heard Pine was the best zone on Saturday.
