Barrett report August 26th

Hi all,

Here's what I found today. Got on the water around 0530, it was 75-76 water temp and a light wind. Pedaled to Wilson's cove for a change, picked up one bass on a jig. Headed along the shoreline towards pine arm. Picked up 5 bass on the popper. Pedaled over to Hauser. Found fish in the back, where they have been busting. They were very fast, on the surface, boiling and done. And they'd go when they went. I cheated with the nifty panoptix and see them and when they went silent, they actually left the area. I guess fish have fins to move around.

Didn't get a picture of the big nature moment of the day, but did have a witness, so it counts. Watched an osprey drop out of the sky, land in the middle of busting fish and come up with a good sized bass. Apparently the osprey doesn't know it's a catch and release lake. Pretty cool to see.

Ended the day with 17 fish. 1 jig, 5 popper, 1 crankbait, 5 jerkbait and 5 stickbait. Seems about the average talking to people at the lake. Water got to 80 when I was leaving. Wasn't too hot outside today either. Tight lines.
Fish of the day, 2 pounds 6 ounces
