Thanks, Hilary. How does the drop in temp change your fishing strategy? Hit the bays instead of the surf? Hmmm...

Fish is still biting ok in the surf. Hit LJ yesterday for a 2 hour session and landed 7 or 8 including a 16in calico, a decent sargo, and some others (smaller calico, sheep, kelpfish, Garibaldi, etc)Neuroshima wrote: Wed Aug 23, 2023 9:08 am Scripps Aug Temp.jpg

We're you with Bill? I had a birthday party to attend to, otherwise would have joined you. I also never do well during a full moon.Gotfish? wrote: Sat Sep 02, 2023 4:52 pm This is even better than Solunar Tables for explaining why the bite was slow. Water was too cold or too warm. Now if I could just find a way to predict when the bite was going to be good instead of an excuse for a slow bite.
Got 17 spotted bay bass at Tidelands this morning. Was doing well until the drizzle started so that must be the reason the bite stopped. Other days, the bite turns on when the drizzle starts. If only I could predict a hot bite as good as I can explain a slow one!
Bill, Rob, Gus and his nephew and I all a launched around 6 am at Tidelands on Saturday. I went south of the bridge, I don't think Bill went very far south.Neuroshima wrote: Sun Sep 03, 2023 8:25 amWe're you with Bill? I had a birthday party to attend to, otherwise would have joined you.
