Went for a half-day trip on the Dolphin boat early morning of the 13th. The Fishing was very slow, apparently due to the water temperature dropping a few degrees overnight. Managed to get a decent Calico and a couple of whitefish in the cooler water, but that was it. Eventually, the boat relocated to a rockfish spot that apparently had a warmer temperature by 4 degrees, and that was it. It turned into non-stop bites for about an hour. I must've hauled in around 50 dinks and a handful of decent rockfish. The whole boat was reeling in Vermilions in the 1-3lb range nearly every minute. It was pretty cold and windy for August but nonetheless it was a great day. I'm glad things were able to turn around so quickly.
