Where to buy live bait fish?

Hi all,

I moved to San Diego recently and wonder where to buy live bait fish? The bait barge seems to be assessible by boat only and is a bit far for me to paddle by kayak.

well, you can make your own bait using a sabiki or use the tide to your advantage and ride it out to the bait barge and back into your launch point.
the bait barge is round about 1.5 miles from shelter island launch.

I've float tubed to the barge, so I'm probably the wrong person to ask, but you can definitely avoid the trouble of bait, and use artificials.

I don't know of a fish that prefers live bait to iron.
