Has anyone ever done a catch and cook with bat rays from the bay? Just curious if this is something ppl do since it’s not talked about. I got 3 rays this morning and heard they taste like scallops ?

Can't say I've ever had the stuff, but I'm wondering if the safe serving size recommendation is on par with round ray.

Well documented that some have cheated & used cookie cutters to stamp out the wings of rays & skates & "labeled" sold them as "scallops' @ fish markets, restaurants, etc.....
Not kidding....

Only eaten bat ray once. Caught in South Bay.
Threw it on the grill..added salt and a little lemon. Nice mild flavor.
Next time I will cut into dinosaur shapes, shake in breading and deep fry for dino-nuggets.

Heres a place that ive eaten at but im under no circumstance interested in trying stingray.....
They have multiple locations, chula vista, & 2 locations in bonita
They have stingray tacos, burritos, quesadillas, etc....
Well atleast the menu states, "stingray"
