Torrey Pines 9/15

Was there before sunrise, fairly clear water, not much seaweed.
Couldn't find any sand crabs beds, like at all. Started with dried lugworms, nothing, switched to gulp sandworms, nothing.
Like a desert, not even a nibble, even no birds in the surf line or any kind of activity, no rays, no beans, ghost town.
Before leaving around 8:15 tried lugworms again, and got a ... GRUNION. That's a first for me. LOL
Also found few small sand crabs beds on my way back, with ant size micros.

Wow, sounds like Mission & PB a few months ago. Very frustrating I know. Mission has actually perked up the last 2-3 weeks. Still mostly small to medium perch with some 10"+ models now & then but a few spot fins & good size corbina in the mix as well. Have been thinking of doing TP but you may have changed my mind ! 😏 Thanks for the report

Nice job on the grunion :D and appreciate the report, TP was my favorite spot to fish last summer and it’s crazy how different the fishing there has been this year. I had a great day of fishing at MB this weekend and plan on heading there again tomorrow. Can’t say the sandcrab situation is better (probably a lost cause at this point) but dried lugworms were getting bit.
