Anyone know what these small fish with the yellow tails are under scripps pier currently? Never seen them before.

Maybe queenfish. It's a common fish caught off piers.

I think Gotfish? has it nailed. I was thinking they might be juvie YFC so it lines up.

I showed the pics to a marine biologist friend and he said they are juvenile blacksmith
