Mission beach 6/24/2026
Hit the sand at Mission Beach life guard #13. Had a 1/2 dozen Blood worms in hand. 1st fish hit at 7:05am strong strike and fish on. 21 1/2" Purpled Hued Corbina. very thick and healthy. After that wasted some blood worms on little perch and then i had another huge strike. This time it was a nice Spotfin Croaker. As a matter of fact that's what im having for dinner tonight Ceviche. Well known Mission Beach angler Jay P was also fishing but got there a little late. No Crab beds but Jay found crabs by blind hunting for them. No salad and saw many sting rays floating around. Saw no other anglers. After a session like that i felt like the smartest person in the room. Those that know me know that's not true.

Thanks I started out throwing the Kastmaster for 30 minutes. Wasn't interested in it.

2 1/2" piece of a worm on a #4 baitholder Carolina rigged. Squidco or Pacific Bait and Tackle in Oceanside has them. Get 3 baits out of each worm.

I love them as bait, but man are they $$$, and I can’t get them up here in LA/OC…Jusbigguns wrote: Fri Jun 26, 2026 4:56 pm 2 1/2" piece of a worm on a #4 baitholder Carolina rigged. Squidco or Pacific Bait and Tackle in Oceanside has them. Get 3 baits out of each worm.
